Walk in Soaring Eagle park – make new friends
November 11, 2020 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pmFree
Come join our high school leaders on a nature walk in Soaring Eagle Park. Our high school leaders volunteer with the goal of helping kids meet new friends and have some fun. We will gather the kids into small groups and they will head out on 2 mile walk with a high school student leader.
Kids Coming Together is about helping kids make new friends and about connecting kids to their community. We often have a service theme but that is harder to do during Covid. However, we do still want to try. So we are asking kids to bring some handmade cards or notes for us to give to support a local program lead by a Sammamish teenager Liam. https://www.givinghopeproject.com/ The gving hope project provides food and personal items to people in need. With each bag the hand out they like to include a personalized message – Stay Strong, We care about you, Wishing great things for you, Be well, or other positive message. Please feel free to decorate them – color, glitter, stickers, cool lettering…anything! Please bring at least TWO CARDS to the event.
Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth for the entire event. Please do not send your child if that will be a struggle. Parents are welcome to walk behind on the trail but please don’t stay right with your child as we want them engaging with there peers. Or parents may leave their child with us for the hour – but please ONLY do that if your child is old enough to be left there on their own as we entertain but don’t supervise.
We will meet at the parking lot to Soaring Eagle park. If the parking lot is full you can park on Main street. Please do not be late as we will already be on the trail. We will go RAIN OR SHINE so please dress accordlingly. It can be muddy after rain. No umbrella’s please – enjoy the rain The entrance to Soaring Eagle park is at the end of Main Street. You drive by the Plateau Club on the way and access the area by turning onto Main Street from 244th Ave.
